Acai Bowl Recipe

Having grown in popularity in recent years, acai bowls are typically a great source of antioxidants, fruits, protein and healthy fats. As well as being a refreshing breakfast, it is also a quick and easy way to up your daily fruit intake. You can also tailor it to include your favourite foods!

Below is a basic acai bowl recipe, sourced from BBC Good Food which will create the perfect base to add your favourite toppings to.


You will need:

  • Acai powder
  • Frozen berries
  • ½ a ripe banana
  • Ice cubes

Simply place the ingredients into a blender with 100ml of water and blend until smooth. The mixture can then be poured into a bowl and then you can add your chosen toppings.


Below are some toppings we would reccomend:

  • Chopped banana
  • Coconut flakes
  • Almond or peanut butter
  • Chia seeds
  • Chopped strawberries
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Kiwi
  • Granola
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Mango chunks
  • Almonds
  • ½ a passionfruit

These toppings can definitely bring some added goodness to your acai bowl! The basic acai bowl base recipe is perfect for trying and testing different toppings to avoid repetitive, boring breakfasts and to find what you like best.
